Terms and conditions

Last updated: 13 September 2026

These terms explain how Ward Gardens works with customers and what you can expect when booking our services.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when Ward Gardens provides fencing, garden maintenance, lawn mowing or related services to you. They form part of our agreement together with the written quote or other confirmation of the work.

Please read these terms before accepting a quote. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Quotes and agreeing the work

Our quote will describe the work and price based on the information available when it is prepared. Unless the quote says otherwise, it does not include additional work or materials that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.

A contract is formed when you accept our quote or otherwise ask us to begin the agreed work. If the scope changes, we will explain any effect on the price or timing and seek your agreement before carrying out the additional work.

3. Prices and payment

Prices and payment arrangements will be set out in the quote or invoice. Where a deposit is requested, it must be paid before materials are ordered or work begins. The remaining balance is due by the date stated on the invoice.

If an invoice is not paid when due, we may pause further work after giving reasonable notice. You remain responsible for amounts properly due for work completed and materials ordered for your job.

4. Dates and delays

We will use reasonable care to meet agreed dates, but outdoor work can be affected by weather, ground conditions, material availability and other matters outside our reasonable control. We will let you know about a significant delay and arrange a revised date where necessary.

5. Access and your responsibilities

You must provide safe and reasonable access to the working area and tell us about anything that may affect the work, including known underground services, access restrictions, boundaries, hazards or protected plants and structures.

Please move fragile or valuable items away from the working area. Unless agreed otherwise, you are responsible for obtaining any permission needed from a landlord, neighbour, freeholder or local authority.

6. Materials and site conditions

Materials may have natural variations in colour, grain, texture and dimensions. Living plants, lawns and timber can also change over time because of weather, soil conditions, watering, pests and normal wear.

If hidden or unexpected site conditions make the agreed method unsuitable, we will discuss the available options with you before continuing wherever reasonably possible.

7. Changes and cancellation

If you want to change or cancel the work, contact us as soon as possible. You may need to pay reasonable costs already incurred, including specially ordered or non-returnable materials and work already completed.

If you enter into the contract at your home, by telephone or online, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to start during that period and then cancel, we may charge for the work supplied up to cancellation. The right to cancel may not apply once a service has been fully performed with your agreement or to certain made-to-measure goods.

8. Our work and liability

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. If you believe there is a problem, please tell us promptly and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect it and, where appropriate, put it right.

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights. We are not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied to us, pre-existing defects, or events outside our reasonable control.

9. Waste and belongings

Removal of garden waste, soil, old fencing or other materials is included only where stated in the quote. Items left at the property remain your responsibility unless we have agreed to remove them.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us promptly using the details on our contact page. We will review the matter and aim to agree a fair resolution.

11. General

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the remaining terms will continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right. The contract is between you and Ward Gardens; no other person has a right to enforce it.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts that apply where you live.
